CBC radio report - "Unfinished Business" about nickel mining harms & violations in Guatemala
Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 12:13AM Rosa Elbira and 10 other Mayan women were gang raped by security personnel at a mine in Guatemala during a violent eviction requested by Canadian mining company HMI Nickel (now owned by Canadian company HudBay Minerals). Rosa tells their story.
Rosa and her fellow survivors have started a lawsuit in Canada against HudBay Minerals and its Canadian subsidiary HMI Nickel to seek reparations for the harms suffered by them.
